I am a Marine Artist living and working on the Isle of Wight.

This website has been constructed and launched to replace my public studio/gallery, which was located in the harbour town of Yarmouth on the Isle of Wight for over 30 years.

Moving my gallery online will enable me to carry out more on-location work during the summer months, which has always been a problem when tied to gallery opening times.

My website will give existing customers, (as well as new ones), access to my past printed work and new original work as it emerges.

What hasn’t changed is my love of the sea in all her moods.

My inspiration will still mainly be marine and directly from life and my own experiences as much as possible. Subjects will include seascapes, coastal and harbour views, landscapes, and some wildlife.

I will continue to record and sketch on the spot, painting in watercolours and oils, producing a mixture of ‘en plein air’ and studio work.

As well as the Isle of Wight I have painted other locations including;

The Isles of Scilly (a particular favourite), Cornwall, Sark, Alderney, Italy (Venice, Portofino, Tuscany), Sicily, France (Villefranche sur Mer), Greece (Alonnisos, Thessaloniki), Turkey (Istanbul, Cappadocia), Morocco (Marrakesh, Essaouira), Madeira, Jordan, Dubai, Cuba and New Zealand (South Island).

Sadly, by not being based in Yarmouth, I will no longer be able to serve on The Yarmouth Lifeboat, RNLI Eric and Susan Hiscock (Wanderer).

I do however have 31 years of treasured memories which I can take with me and dip into. I am fortunate that I have been able to experience not only the beauty, but also the raw energy, power and drama of the sea, which most other artists can only try to imagine. Volunteering, and being afloat in all weathers, have been an inspiration and a privilege to do, especially with such a skilled and dedicated crew and shore team, whom I shall very much miss.
